Happy Birthday Brycen

Brycen had his 4th birthday on Nov. 11th, I cannot believe that he is already 4, time really does fly the next thing I know he will be on a mission :) He got to have 2 parties, one with his friends where they fed the ducks at a local park and then decorated cupcakes. And another on Sunday the 11th, it was his primary program and so both sets of his grandparents came to watch him. He preformed his part (I have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ) exactly as he had practiced and he sang most of the songs, or at least hummed them while winking or giving a thumbs up to a member of the family. He is a cheese ball, but we love him anyway. Happy Birthday Brycen!!!

Splish Splash!

After a visit to their cousin's house in Utah and wearing goggles in the tub there my boys just had to have some of their own. No complaints here though because I think that it is adorable.

The Rexburg Temple

I had a really awesome, once in a life opportunity last night. I got to clean the Rexburg Temple. A missionary couple that are in charge of the temple are in my ward and they asked for volunteers so of course I jumped at the chance. Our group was in charge of the 3rd floor which is all of the sealing rooms and actually the largest sealing room in any temple, it seats 80! It was so beautiful and after we cleaned (for 4 hours) they took us on a tour. I got to see the mechanical rooms and everything, it was really amazing. There is still a lot of work to do, but it was still breathtaking. The wood is from Africa and is so beautiful and the limestone is from Israel. The murals were not up yet, but they are being done by Del Parsons. It was amazing just how perfect it all had to be, any imperfection at all was marked by a piece of tape so that workers could come through and fix it. Even in the mechanical rooms that will never be seen by anyone I saw tape where things had to be touched up. They told us that the First Presidency and the others in SLC spared no expense in building it because of the love that they have for the people of the area as well as the BYU-I students and walking through it that was very apparent. It was an extraordinary experience!

Just a little FYI the openhouse tickets are available sometime later this month and the openhouse starts Dec. 29th. I am not sure how long it runs, but if you have the opportunity to come and see this temple it would be an experience that you would never forget.

Happy Halloween

We had a very busy Halloween! We went to a party, went trick-or-treating, carved and/or decorated 5 pumpkins and they boys went around for days wearing vampire teeth that made them drool excessively.Brycen was a bat and Rylan was a spider, but they also have superman costumes that they love to wear everywhere, Rylan runs around saying, "man, man" it is really adorable. Overall it was a really great time!

Summer 2007

Well, summer is coming to a close and here is a recap of the things we were able to do this summer.

Dallen Graduated in April and has been loving every moment he hasn't had to think about school anymore.

Then in June Dallen took that DAT (again) and applied to Dental School (yet again).

Starting on Memorial Day the boys got to go to the Splash Park here in town. It took them some time to get use to the cold water, but soon they were sliding down the slides and loving every minute of it.

In June we had a the Ure Family Reunion at Ang and Jesse's new house in American Fork, Utah. While there we went to some cool springs up a canyon that was lot of fun.

We also spent some time at Rigby Lake which the boys and Dallen seemed to enjoy a lot.
Also this summer we went to Florida to visit our friends the Kershaws. It was neat to see Florida and the beach. Rylan loved the water and Brycen enjoyed staying back in Idaho "playing with dawson" and "obeying his new mom beth".

After our trip to Florida, Dallen was able to go to his first Dental School Interview at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona (a suburb of Phoenix). He was pleasantly surprised how well it went and had a great time. Now he just needs to wait patiently until December 1st to find out if the will accept him into their inaugural class starting in Sept. 2008.

So there is a little summary of our summer and the many neat and exciting things we've been able to do! Hope all is well in your homes and we always look forward to seeing or hearing from you! Love to you all!

DAT

Well everyone, I am now finished with the DAT which I have been studying for since graduating in April. I did well, and improved my scores over last years attempt. Hopefully it will be enough to catch the eye of some Dental School and they'll want me to come there and learn to be a dentist. The next part of the process is a long wait as the schools evaluate and set up interviews. The interview process will start around October and last until December at which time they will start offering positions to very few lucky individuals. Hopefully I will be one of them! Well, that is the update on things so far! Hope everyone is doing well!

Pictures from the Splash Park

Here are some pictures that our friend Nels Chick took of our boys at the splash park. They are much better quality and better pictures than I could ever take. I hope that you enjoy them. I know Christin and I sure do!

24 May 2007

We (meaning Dallen) put the wrong shorts on the wrong boys. It was pretty cute looking.
Brycen is now riding his own bike with training wheels. He is really good and loves to ride his big boy bike.
Rylan likes having his "big" boy bike that he can follow his brother around on.
Brycen still likes to get on the little bike and do his no feet trick.
Summer has kicked off with some fun things. Dallen is preparing to take the DAT (Dental Admissions Test) again on June 9th. His application for Dental School will be sent in on June 1st. He is looking forward to being done with school even though he graduated almost 2 months ago.

Christin really likes the new place we have moved into. The kitchen is bigger and nicer than at our old apartment and we really like how close we are to the splash park in Porter park. The park is only half a block away.

Brycen has learned how to ride a bike with training wheels. He loves wearing his helmet and trying to beat mom and dad who are walking.

Rylan is getting bigger and bigger and will go into nursery in a few weeks, great for mom and dad. He loves being a doctor and goes around all day with his doctor kit giving people shots and listening to their heartbeat. Both he and Brycen love listening and seeing the trains go by not more than 10 feet from our apartment.

Well there is a little bit of an update on our family. Hope things are well with all of you and hope to hear from you soon.
